The Corry Family

Busy Boy

Rule number one of raising a boy....keep him busy! So, I've discovered that age 4 is the magic number for getting little boys involved in sports, camps and other such organized group activities. David has already been very busy this summer. He had fine arts camp, VBS and is in soccer camp this week. Next week we start swim lessons, then in July David has Golf and Tennis camp. We've also been busy swimming, visiting the berry farm, hiking and site seeing. I will try to post pics of each of David's summer activities. Grant is always in tow and loves watching her big brother and all of the big kids having fun. Happy Summer!

Message to Aunt Sharon

My Aunt Sharon (Aunt Sha Sha) is one of the strongest, most wonderful people I know. She has always been there for me in my life and I am deeply saddened that I can't be with her now. She is fighting breast cancer with such strength and grace and we are all so proud of her. Since we can't be there to hold her hand as she faces each new challenge, we wanted to send her a message. Here is a video of our message to her....please note- part 1 was cut short so we had to extend the message to part 2- please view both! Aunt Sharon, we love you so very much! We pray that God will give you encouragement, strength and peace as you trust in him.

Happy Father's Day

We had a wonderful Father's day with Daddy and Uncle Duck! Donald has been staying with us some while he makes the transition to Texas and has his family moved out here. He will be working on the same project as David now. We are so glad to have them closer and so thrilled to have Uncle Duck staying with us. We had a great dinner and I had to snap some pics of the guys with the monkees. The only thing missing....the rest of Donald's family. He is so sad to be without his girls but they will be here soon. We hope they both had a wonderful Daddy Day! Furthermore, to my sweet husband.....you are the bomb baby- simply the bomb! We are sooo happy to have you- you are the BEST Daddy on earth and we love you MEGA!

Enchanted Rock- take 2

Daddy finally got a day off and we decided to go do something fun that we had not yet done with him. Little David and I were thrilled to show him "Enchanted Rock Park". Daddy has a fear of heights but he hung in there with us up the rock mountain about 3/4 of the way up before he decided that it was too dangerous to go all the way up with Sissy in tow. So, Little David and I climbed all the way up and even around the back side and hiked back down to meet Daddy and Sissy. We had a great time! Daddy and Jr finished up the day by going to visit the Nimitz Pacific war museum in Fredricksburg, TX. We topped off the day with a trip to an old-fashioned ice cream parlor. It was a great "Daddy day off day"!

My how you've grown....7 months

I've been behind on my posts so instead of 6 months- I'm posting 7 month pics of Grant. Her 6 month check up went well and she was 16 lbs- I'll be honest, I don't remember many other stats because we were so focused on curing her thrush, as well as mine. She is growing like a weed- babbling all of the time and she is beginning to crawl. Her most defined word is "Da-da" and she calls every thing and every one "Da-da". Daddy loves this and never stops encouraging her. We can't believe how quickly our littlest angel is growing! David is such a proud big brother and loves entertaining sissy! Check out the video below.....

More fun with Gentian Violet.....

Well, our battle with thrush was one for the books! Not only did we battle your run of the mill thrush, but Mommy developed what's called, "ductal thrush". It was horrible! So, finally after a month and a half we are better and unfortunately, our nursing days are over. Luckily, Grant will take a bottle and seems fine with the formula- she even gives herself the bottle! Here is a photo of our last Gentian Violet treatment (let's hope). This stuff is soooo messy!

Grant's first trip to the pool

We decided to go to the pool over at the resort after Daddy got off work on Sunday night. We had a great time and Grant LOVED the water! Even after I took her out, she kept kicking her feet like she wanted to get back in. We were so glad to have a little family time and cool off from the Texas heat. It's been over a 100 degrees every day for at least a week!
