David has enjoyed attending a summer day camp at a new montessori school in town. They learned about the soil and the stages of a caterpillar to a butterfly. We took a field trip to the Wildseed farm in Fredricksburg, TX. We got to see many beautiful wildflowers and a butterfly habitat. The rain held out just long enough for our visit. The children really enjoyed viewing the chrysallis exhibit. We even watched one butterfly trying to emerge- how cool!
I was deeply honored when several ladies from my gym offered to give me a baby shower. We had a wonderful turnout- all of my "yogis" were there, the gym owner, the lady who runs the gym nursery and a few friends I met at the gym. So, it was a true "gym" of an evening. I received some wonderful gifts, but I mostly felt overwhelmed at the way this group has embraced me and joined me to celebrate this special time. I made sure to let them all know how much it meant to me to have this fellowship, particularly when you move often and it is difficult to make friends, and family is so far away. It was a great party! Little David has his fans among the group as well- he received two big brother gifts and was really thrilled about the balloons! How lucky we all are!
Here are a few more pictures of "Grant Elizabeth Corry" She was quite active as usual, and it has been difficult to get that "scrapbook" profile picture. She did have her mouth open during the whole ultrasound today so maybe she's our budding singer!
We have been very involved with our summer reading program at the library this summer. We have been checking out 7-8 books weekly and logging our minutes of daily reading time so that David could work his way toward some cool prizes. In David's case, being read to counts as minutes read. He read over 330 minutes in a month and received all three prizes including a special certificate at the library party and he (along with all the other 300+ readers) got their hair sprayed purple. I wish so much I had pictures to share with you but our camera accidentally went to SC with BeeGee and Poppa. The camera is in the mail and by the time the pony express reaches our rural area, David may be 5 but as soon as I get it, I'll upload some new ones. I just had to post how proud we are of our little reader!
